You can offer Trump the following trade victory:
Each month, the BOC sells your new sovereign wealth fund (approx) $C 14.3 billion for $US 10 billion (current mkt prices).
The Canadian government spends that $10 billion on additional US exports to Canada.
The US then has the $C in its new SWF AND The US ‘gets its money back’ from the Canadian purchases of US exports!
US exports go up $10 billion/month! The US trade deficit is reduced by $10 billion/month!

This of course highlights the inane US trade policy.
If the US accepts it, it’s a massive real win for Canada that directly increases real wealth.
